There are two separate posts on tumblr that I have seen claiming there are more shooters at large involved with the Orlando Pulse Shooting. They have tens of thousands of reblogs, and I am seeing them on Facebook and Twitter now. One is a screenshot from a person on Facebook named Cody Agnew and the other is a video of a man giving details via phone and supposably being cut off or hung up on. Both of these are incorrect and this is blatant misinformation being spread to cause fear and confusion.
The posts from Cody Agnew claims that he has a friend in the hospital passing off this information (who after 12 bullet wounds was apparently stabilized enough to do so in a short amount of time). This person is known to spread lies and misinformation over the internet for attention. This is just another example of his usual trolling. The video that I mentioned fails to show that the person being interviewed on the phone was brought back on the air and finished explaining what he witnessed which had nothing to do with another shooter.
These posts are telling people there are still active shooters on the loose looking for more people to target. Stay safe if you feel the need but these posts alone are telling you to do so off of false information. There is no need for added confusion.
